Carola Nasdala was born and raised in Magdeburg, where she received her first violin lessons at age 5 from Karl-Georg Deutsch at the Telemann Music Scool. After graduation from the Music Academy in Weimar, she continued her studies at the Franz Liszt Coservatory under Fritz Ehlers, Jörg Hofmann and Jost Witter. A post graduate program in chamber music with the Smetana Quartet in Prague Followed.
She continued to further her studies through lessons and master classes with Thomas Brandis, Wolfgang Marschner and the Amadeus Quartet.
During these years, she was the recipient of prizes and awards at various international violin and chamber music competitions. As a soloist, she was awarded the Young Artist´s Prize from the city of Leipzig, the North Hessian Culture Award, and was twice granted the Mendelssohn Scholarship.
Teaching has also been an important part of her career; first as a lecturer in violin and chamber music at the music conservatory in Weimar, and later at the Conservatory in Osnabrück.
Carola Nasdala resides in Cologne, where she holds the position of assistant principal second violin with the West German Radio Symphonie Orchestra. Concert tours have taken her around the world, with appearances in the most important concert halls in Germany, Europe, Asia and America. Recordings include radio and television as well as CDs.
